Team Lead: Desktop Support Engineer – Rivonia, Sandton – Managed IT Services | R20 000+
The Opportunity
If you enjoy leading people and still want to stay hands-on technically, this role gives you both. You’ll join a stable Managed IT Services Provider in Rivonia, Sandton, where you will guide a support team while working on real client desktop and server environments.
You will earn R18,000 – R28,000 per month plus medical aid, travel reimbursement, and commission for overtime work. You’ll also gain exposure to Microsoft and Dell environments, with room to grow into senior support, infrastructure leadership, or service delivery management over time.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead and manage support staff and oversee daily team operations
- Install, configure, and support Microsoft desktop and server operating systems
- Respond to and resolve support calls remotely and at customer sites
- Troubleshoot desktop and server hardware issues and drive root-cause fixes
- Compile and maintain configuration documentation for client sites
- Identify risks early, escalate complex issues, and support the team with guidance
Experience & Qualifications
- Matric certificate
- International MCSA / MCSE
- Proven team leadership/management experience in an IT support environment
- 5+ years of concurrent IT work experience, including 2+ years of server support
- CompTIA A+ / Network+ / Server+ (or similar)
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory and user administration
- Experience with Microsoft 365 / Office 365 support and administration
- Experience with backup solutions like Veeam
- Solid networking knowledge: TCP/IP, routers, wireless access points
- Ability to interpret Windows Event Logs and identify issues fast
