Role Summary:
Lead and deliver end-to-end IT projects within banking environments across African markets, ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and technology standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage full project lifecycle (initiation to closure) for banking IT initiatives
- Deliver projects across core banking, digital banking, payments, and integration platforms
- Engage with stakeholders across business, IT, vendors, and regulators
- Ensure compliance with banking regulations across African jurisdictions
- Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and dependencies
- Coordinate cross-functional technical and business teams
- Oversee vendor and third-party delivery performance
- Provide clear reporting, governance, and project documentation
RequirementsRequirements:
- Degree or relevant IT / Business qualification
- 5+ years’ experience as an IT Project Manager in banking
- Proven experience across African banking markets
- Strong understanding of banking systems (core banking, payments, channels, integrations)
- Experience working with regulatory and compliance-driven environments
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience with Agile and/or Waterfall delivery methodologies
- PMP, PRINCE2, or similar certification advantageous
