Our client, a well-established Managed Services Provider (MSP), is looking for a Junior IT Technician to join their technical support team. This is a client-facing role supporting businesses across the Bellville and Paarl regions, providing both onsite and remote technical assistance.
This opportunity is ideal for someone with 1-2 years of IT support experience who enjoys troubleshooting, working directly with users, and developing their technical skills within a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first- and second-line technical support.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and Microsoft 365 issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
- Administer user accounts and permissions.
- Monitor and maintain client IT environments.
- Deploy updates, patches, and system upgrades.
- Maintain accurate ticket notes and technical documentation.
- Escalate complex issues to senior engineers where required.
- Manage IT asset inventories.
- Ensure SLA compliance and excellent customer service.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric with Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy).
- 1-2 years’ experience in an IT support or Helpdesk environment.
- Valid driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle (essential).
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
Desired Skills:
- CompTIA A+
- Network+
- Microsoft 365
- MCSE/MCITP
- or similar certifications. IT-related tertiary qualification. Microsoft Windows desktop support. Microsoft 365 administration. Windows Server [Phone Number Removed];). TCP/IP
- DNS
- DHCP networking knowledge. Network cabling and infrastructure support. Experience with RMM tools and ticketing systems.
