Our Company is seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Administrator (Level 3) to join our team on a 12-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to work with large-scale SQL Server environments, modern infrastructure technologies, automation frameworks, and cloud-based solutions while making a direct impact on business-critical systems.
Duties
- As a Senior DBA, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our database environments remain secure, scalable, highly available, and optimized for peak performance.
- Your Responsibilities:
- Design and maintain High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions
- Implement and manage complex replication and data movement architectures
- Proactively monitor database environments and resolve performance bottlenecks
- Conduct advanced database tuning using execution plans, profiling tools, and wait statistics
- Lead root cause investigations and implement lasting solutions
- Drive automation initiatives through scripting and self-service tooling
- Support cloud adoption and infrastructure modernization projects
- Ensure compliance, security, auditing, encryption, and access governance
- Create and maintain technical documentation and operational standards
- Mentor and support junior Database Administrators Participate in critical incident response and after-hours support where required
Essential Experience:
- 6+ years’ experience in enterprise database administration
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field Strong expertise in SQL Server or other enterprise RDBMS platforms
- Proven experience in High Availability, Disaster Recovery, and Replication technologies
- Advanced performance tuning and query optimisation skills
- Scripting and automation experience (PowerShell, Bash, or Python)
- Strong troubleshooting and critical incident management capabilities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Passion for collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
