The Junior Azure Cloud Engineer supports the deployment, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of cloud-based infrastructure and services in a Microsoft Azure environment. The role suits someone with practical Azure exposure who wants to develop further in cloud infrastructure and DevOps, and requires a minimum of three years of relevant experience.
Duties:
- Deploy, maintain, and support Azure infrastructure and services, including virtual machines, storage, networking, Azure SQL, and App Services
- Monitor platform health and performance using Azure Monitor and related tooling
- Investigate application and system logs to identify and resolve issues
- Troubleshoot problems across cloud environments, Linux and Windows systems, and core networking components such as DNS, VPN, virtual networks, and subnets
- Apply basic scripting and automation with Azure CLI, Bash, and PowerShell to support day-to-day operations
- Follow security fundamentals when configuring and supporting Azure resources
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience
- Practical exposure to Microsoft Azure, including virtual machines, storage, networking, Azure SQL, App Services, and Azure Monitor
- Experience investigating application and system logs
- Experience working with Linux and Windows
- Understanding of basic networking concepts, including DNS, VPN, virtual networks, and subnets
- Basic scripting or automation with Azure CLI, Bash, or PowerShell
- Experience troubleshooting cloud environments
- Understanding of security fundamentals
- Advantageous: Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, Terraform, Python, Ansible, Azure Functions, monitoring and logging tools, or AZ-104 certification
