FNB’s customers have made a cumulative saving of R276-million from the use of discounts via the bank’s Vouchers & Coupons which are available on the FNB Banking App and redeemable electronically at various retailers.
“There are different modes of payment that the bank has innovated over the years and when mobile Vouchers & Coupons were introduced in 2015 the aim was to deliver not only a payment solution, but a way to help customers save,” says Johan Moolman, CEO of eBucks. “Mobile Vouchers can be purchased using rands or eBucks on the app while coupons are listed on the App for selected grocery items and can be redeemed at till-point and discounted on the spot.”
Electronic Vouchers available on the FNB App are redeemable at several retailers including Makro, Shoprite/Checkers, Dischem, and Yuppiechef, while mobile coupons are only redeemable at Shoprite/Checkers.
“It’s encouraging to see that our customers have embraced this mode of payment and at the same time made significant savings,” adds Moolman
The FNB Banking App is a very functional tool that also covers customers’ needs beyond just transactional banking. The biggest advantage about the app is that customers can use it on the go.
The FNB Banking App now has a total of more than 2-million active devices in use and remains the most downloaded banking app in South Africa. The App was launched in July 2011 and was SA’s first smart phone and tablet banking app.
