Cell C has extended its offer of zero-rated access to university websites until the end of February 2017.

The decision follows a request by universities to allow students, who were not able to write their exams this year, more time to access course material and complete their academic year.

The participating universities are:

* Cape Peninsula University of Technology

* Central University of Technology

* Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University

* North-West University

* Sol Plaatje University

* Stellenbosch

* Tshwane University of Technology

* University of Cape Town

* University of Free State

* University of Johannesburg

* University of KwaZulu-Natal

* University of Pretoria

* University of Western Cape

* Walter Sisulu University

Students from participating universities, with a Cell C SIM card will be able to make use of the service.

The zero-rated access to university websites complements the free basic internet services, including Wikipedia and other information-based sites that are already available free and exclusively to Cell C’s customers through Facebook’s FreeBasics (Internet.org).
