Open solutions technology and services specialist Obsidian Systems has announced that its next ‘Free Beer’ OS-focused networking session will take place on Thursday, 8 March.
The company’s Free Beer Sessions is now a recognised value-add institution that brings open source enthusiasts and users together.
The Johannesburg event at 100 Grayston Drive will be streamed live and will feature local home-grown talent sharing their open source stories, challenges and learnings.
Speakers lined up for the event include David Rampersad, director of sales and marketing at SNIPR South Africa and Thomas Lee from Wingu.
David will speak about the intelligence of AI – using AI in business and security, and Thomas will help guests to ‘demystify OpenStack’.
As with the tradition of crafting great technology solutions, there is the enjoyable crafting of adult beverages. Draymans Craft Brewery and distillery will be sharing their craft beers at this session. There will also be an opportunity to taste their Highveld Single Malt Whisky and, for the local connoisseur, their Hakkiesdraad Mampoer and Te’j Honey Beer will also be available.
If we were Nostradamus what would our challenges be for 2018? Will we as mere mortals be outsmarted by machines? Are we still gunning for those standard titles in the C-Suite or should they be D-Suites #Digital #Data #Discover? Can we start focusing on the here and now or are we really just virtual beings? If you’re curious about these subjects or have something to say, join the Free Beer Sessions.
