We are looking for a dynamic, innovative operational person to join the Maintenance team at Amaro Foods Epping and Montague Gardens facilities.
PURPOSE
- To ensure the plant and machinery operate efficiently during their life through maintenance and optimization and assist production to reach their targets of production and quality while ensuring health and safety requirements.
KEY PERFORMANCE OUTPUT
The successful candidate will be reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor and will be responsible for the following:
Maintenance and Repairs
- Carry out inspections as per Preventative maintenance schedule
- Report any discrepancies to the maintenance supervisor and raise corrective action job cards
- Complete ad hoc repairs and maintenance
- Ensure machinery is able to function safely
- Ensure spare parts requested timeously
- Ensure all tools are handled and maintained with care
- Conduct fault finding on equipment
- Ensure maximum availability of equipment and utilities
- Participate in continuous improvement and optimization of preventative maintenance plans
- Assist with daily start-ups and mandatory start up checks
- Complete all repairs to the correct engineering standards, timeously and safely
- Assist fellow artisans where needed
- Ownership of assigned area
Risk and Compliance
- Comply with the necessary Occupational Health and Safety requirements and food safety requirements
- Legal and safety inspections
- Comply with company protocols and rules
Administration
- CMMS administration
- Raising and closing of job cards
- Assisting with training documents and operator training
TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum N2 Mechanical qualification
- Must have a trade test qualification
- N6 qualification will be advantageous
- 2-3 years relevant work experience
- Food factory experience

The successful incumbent should demonstrate initiative, be self-driven and have a high level of integrity. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to engage in continuous learning.
In addition, the candidate must have the ability to demonstrate analytical thinking, be able to follow instructions, have a strong sense of time management and high level of attention to detail.
The individual must also be adaptable and be able to work under pressure.
