The Opportunity
IIE MSA is seeking an outstanding Programme Manager in the field of Law to strengthen the programme management capabilities in the School of Commerce and Law.
Key Performance Areas
- Overall leadership and management of the designated qualifications in the School on campus.
- Manage the interface with the Head of School.
- Plan resource allocation for the academic operations of all programmes and monitor to ensure effectiveness, efficiency and responsible use of resources by complying with policy.
- With the T&L team, review academic results of all students after each assessment point and period (such as semester) and implement an appropriate teaching and learning strategy for “At risk” students and “At risk” modules.
- Manage academic counselling and support to students in the programmes.
- Conduct Student consultations on all matters. Oversee student consultations of other lecturers.
- Report on the academic performance of the programmes to the Head of School and the Head: Academic and Head of Campus and IIE Faculty as may be required.
- Ensure that the programmes comply with required teach out procedures and reporting.
- Drive the implementation of relevant teaching and learning initiatives within the School on campus.
- Support the development of new programmes for accreditation.
- Oversee and support development of academic material and assessments on programmes within the School by acting as developer, module leader, moderator or head of programme for the Central Academic Team (CAT).
- Manage the development of academic material and assessments on teach out programmes.
- In collaboration with the Head of School, performance manage and develop permanent academic staff within the School on campus.
- Manage lecturer development in consultation with the Teaching and Learning Specialist.
- Ensure representation of the programme grouping on the Programme Co-ordination Committee (PCC) calls.
- Act as the Discipline Module Support person for the allocated modules (take overall responsibility on the campus for the support of students and lecturers in those modules).
- Support the Teaching & Learning Specialist in the management of the peer review process and the internal moderation model.
- Provide specialist support to the campus senior management team for all programmes in portfolio.
- Provide specialist support to the campus operations team responsible for the operation of all programmes within the portfolio on campus.
- Support the Head of School in the recruitment, selection, and appointment of the academic team of the School within the campus.
- Provide support to the campus marketing team with specialised knowledge of the programmes.
- Manage the Development Task in those programmes in which it is located.
- Manage plagiarism offences and disciplinary procedures.
- Involvement in, and management of, academic support and administrative duties during the campus registration period.
- Lecturing, marking and supervision of students.
- Manage the student tracking process.
