Is this you?
You love designs and anything to do with roofs. You are a solutions kinda person. People give you problems and you find solutions. This is what you do and love. Great! Even though you have a technical qualification in Quantity Surveying or Structural Engineering, this doesn’t mean you don’t enjoy working with people too. You love people! You are also passionate about renewable energy- who doesn’t want to make this world a greener place?!
What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)
As mentioned above, you love finding solutions to people’s problems. This is what you will be doing by offering technical solar solutions to your clients. You are skilled at CAD (or similar) and reading drawings is easy for you. Whether you deal with clients on email, phone or in person (with a mask of course), you enjoy this side of the job as much as the designing part.
Where you’ll be doing it
You will be working for an international brand in the renewables industry, selling the best systems for successful Solar PV installations. You will be joining a team of likeminded people that are passionate about solar and renewables. Your office is pretty cool too- you have nice views and restaurants and shops very close by!
What you’ll need
You will need a structural engineering qualification or a quantity surveying qualification with a passion for renewables and solar. A big BONUS is if you have worked with roof structures or understand roofing. Wind loads is a term very familiar to you and you have experience with these calculations and understanding wind impacts on your structures.
Through your qualification and 1-2 years’ work experience you have also worked with CAD or the likes and are comfortable with engineering drawings and designs.
