A great contractual venture available in Gauteng within the FMCG space for SAP FICO Consultant.

This is a contracting role, suitable for a self-starter with good interpersonal skills to join an already established team. You will assist with the implementation of a large financial project to support the enablement of controls and standardized processes .
The solution supports the typical back office functions of financial reporting and management accounting capabilities.

Typical duties

  • Collaborate with Business Analysts and Prepare Functional Design Specifications.
  • Facilitate the implementation and support of SAP Financials (focus on FICO – Cost Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting, Accounts Receivables, Profitability Analysis, Results Analysis and Month End Close
  • Perform detailed analysis of complex business process requirements and provide appropriate system solutions; identify, interpret, validate and document customer requirements
  • Map client business requirements, processes and objectives; develops necessary product modifications to satisfy clients’ needs. Identify gaps, issues and work around solutions
  • Document functional designs, test cases and results
  • Proactively identify and propose business process and/or system enhancements
  • Provide consulting services on both new implementations and existing support projects
  • Execution of unit testing and system integration testing during test cycles.
  • Support the Business Analysts during User Acceptance testing.
  • Facilitate workshops to collect business requirements
  • Act as a liaison between the business functions and the technical team.
  • Provide ad-hoc training and user support as required
  • may act as subject matter expect

Desired Experience & Qualification
Skills/Experience required:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a full cycle implementation as well as in support projects.
  • SAP FICO certification
  • Minimum of 3 years SAP experience supporting General Ledger plus 3 or more of the following functions: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Financial Accounting and Inter-company Accounting.
  • Experience in FI integration points with other SAP modules like MM and SD
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple deliverables and projects at the same time
  • Experience in a FMCG is an asset
  • Understanding of accounting business processes
  • Ability to understand business processes from a customer perspective
  • Ability to work in a team environment, effectively interacting with others
  • Must be results oriented, attitude – adaptability, flexibility and resourcefulness
