Vacancy: CONTROL ROOM OPERATOR – 4 Month ContractLocation: Nelspruit Mpumalanga – Kanaal Street DepotDepartment: Technical ServicesReporting to: Control Room Supervisor The company has a vacant position for a Control Room Operator for the private sector Water Service Provider within the City of Mbombela Job Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 and prior relevant experience needed.
  • At least 1-year work related experience in the same/similar business environment.
  • Experience to work on EDAMS Billing system and O&M System would be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities: The main tasks and responsibilities associated with the position are listed below. This is not an exhaustive list of tasks and responsibilities and any other tasks and/or responsibilities that could be reasonably expected for the position may be required.

  1. Receive Customer queries/complaints, handle complaints effectively, ensure customer satisfaction and follow-up with Customer
  2. Log Customer complaints on electronic database
  3. Address internal job requests from billing, engineering, laboratory and operations
  4. Job card processing
  5. Basic reporting with shift handover
  6. Manage activities e.g. sign-in/out of keys and logging of after hour staff movement
  7. Monitor telemetry reservoir levels on SCADA
  8. Update Bulletin board according to procedure and forward to relevant stake holders
  9. Dispatch all job cards to foremen and relevant personnel as per desired job request.
  10. Liaison with PR administrator about all water disruptions.
  11. Do customer bill enquiries.
  12. Process water reconnection administration after hours and over the weekends.
  13. Handle after hours complaints on standby phone.
  14. Proficient in English and Siswati. Proficiency in Afrikaans will be an added advantage.
  15. Intermediate Computer skills.
  16. Have a high level of accuracy in capturing information
  17. Basic knowledge and understanding of City of Mbombela By-laws and Operational and Customer Service Procedures.
  18. Good telephone etiquette and interpersonal skills
  19. Knowledge of Company ISO and SHEQ systems, procedures, and practices.
