YOUR FUTURE ROLE:
Our client in the medical aid industry sought to employ a Registered Pharmacist.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

  • Authorisation of chronic medication according to the Scheme’s protocols and formularies.
  • Assisting doctors, pharmacists and members with claim and authorisation related queries.
  • Previous experience in a managed healthcare environment is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Drug Utilisation Reviews (DUR).
  • Retrospective review of chronic medication claims.
  • Drug formulary maintenance.
  • Processing CDL outpatient applications and claims.
  • provide clinical expertise within the organisation where required.
  • Disease Management Case identification and provide clinical support and guidance for disease management programmes.
  • Knowledge of Prescribed Minimum Benefits is an advantage.

KEY BEHAVIOURAL TRAITS:

  • Excellent MS Excel and data analytical ability is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Outstanding time management and organisational skills.
  • Able to work both within a team and independently.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B. Pharm Degree.
  • Registered with the SAPC.
  • Completed community service and internship.
  • Computer literate especially Microsoft Word and Excel.
