Listed retail group requires seasoned payroll admninistrator with the STRONG FINANCIAL /ACCOUNTING BACKGROUND to join their team of professionals.

The ideal candidate should have mature personality and be meticulous, accurate in their work.
Must be willing and able to work in a team, take lots of pressure of deadlines.

Must be able to work every second Saturday and Public Holiday; must be able and willing to work long hours!!!

This role is a 3 months LDC to become permanent based on candidate’s performance.
Company benefits will be applicable once the candidate will become a permanent employee.

Main duties will include:

  • Manage and process monthly payrolls, additional earnings and bonusses, including management reporting and statuary filings
  • Create and maintain month end payroll journals for posting in general ledgers
  • Ascertain that the operational aspects of payroll processing and associated activities such as salaries and leave management are accurately handled
  • Coach, mentor and train staff members to ensure that they perform work duties in accordance to standards and protocols
  • Prepare complex payroll and human resource information for data input purposes, and assist in checking that quality control measures are undertaken properly
  • Assist the company in meeting its taxation and superannuation obligations, along with ensuring that appropriate returns and processed and prepared on time
  • Check manual timecards and worksheets to ensure accurate running of payroll processes
  • Initialize journal entries and handle balancing out accounts activities with precision and accuracy
  • Provide assistance in auditing and administering terminated employees’ files and records
  • Keep abreast of current payroll tax requirements and advise management on pay practices, along with fringe benefit reporting processes
  • Prepare, administer and maintain fiscal year-end reports and ensure that they are properly and accurately reconciled for accuracy and completeness of information

Required qualifications:
– Matric
– Accounting diploma / degree would be highly desirable
– Working knowledge of ERP system
– Working knowledge of payroll system
– Advanced Excel
