My client is based in Durban and is an international freight supply chain company. They are looking for a Senior Estimator to join their team – must have a minimum of 5 years experience in freight forwarding estimates and pricing for both imports and exports.
Requirements
- Degree with exposure to finance and / or accounting
- OR 5 years minimum experience in freight forwarding estimates etc
- Advanced Excel skills
- Incoterms Certificate
- Good geographical knowledge
- Good understanding of shipping terms
Key functions
- Preparation of modal estimates for imports and exports to comply with agreed timelines
- Drive sales by developing and securing direct sales opportunities
- Negotiate competitive rates with shipping lines, co loaders, overseas agents and transporters
- Ensure estimates are accurate and competitive
- Analysis of estimate reports i.e. failure vs successes / trade lane review / mutual office benefits and leads
