Main Purpose:
To prepare storage and office containers for site establishments as well as to do general maintenance, repairs and installations on site buildings utilizing carpentry, plumbing, painting and building skills to ensure good quality work in a safe and hazard free environment.
Key Performance Areas:
- Surface preparation, repairs and painting of buildings and containers.
- Install floorboards, tiles, carpets, cupboards, doors, windows and work surfaces in containers and site buildings utilizing general carpentry skills and machinery.
- Install and maintain plumbing systems which include but not limited to basins, toilets, kitchen sinks and geysers utilizing general plumbing skills and required equipment to an acceptable standard.
- Do basic gas cutting, grinding and welding repairs when required to complete a project.
- Comprehend drawings, technical diagrams and specification charts required for installation and repair work.
- General building and plastering work, mixing and pouring of concrete.
- Do survey and prepare basic quotations for work to be done for sites.
- Comply with OSHACT regulations, policies, procedures and instructions during execution of duties.
- Complete job cards for all installations, repairs, maintenance and inspections of buildings, containers and equipment.
- Any other job related duties as required from time to time.
Preferred Requirements:
- Grade 12/N3.
- 5 Years’ experience working as a Handyman.
- Good knowledge of hardware, consumables, materials, equipment and tools for the trade.
- Valid driver’s licence.
