To define, document and communicate, a visionary competitive strategy for the ABL cluster that ensures an advantageous market position and sustainable superior financial performance, with due and thorough regard to all environmental and industry forces. To ensure implementation of the defined strategy, through the creation and staffing of an organisation and reporting structure that facilitates delegation of authority and accountability with respect to planning, organising, co-ordination and control.
To monitor day to day operations and to continually enhance productivity and controls through the development of people, processes and systems. Manages the ABL business to ensure profitable and sustainable growth by creating business plans for the attainment of goals and objectives set.
Directs activities associated with the security and investment of the assets and financials in the ABL cluster and ensures that transactions, policies and procedures meet short- and long-term objectives and regulatory body requirements.
Accountabilities:
- Provides departmental strategic direction for loan originations, direct dealerships, collections, legal collections and customer services Including:
o Develop and implement strategies aligned to business strategy and vision.
o Implement and standardise all practices, procedures, and projects of the Asset Backed Lending business in line with the strategy.
o Establish and implement departmental goals and objectives through department heads.
- Uses multiple data sources (internal, customer, dealerships, Toyota, sales) to ensure high market insight to enable effective product design and decision making.
- Collaboration with Cluster heads, to determine the strategic alignment, structure, long term agenda and short-term performance objectives of each division, function in achieving the strategic objectives.
- Leverage multiple support functions to enhance business performance for ABL cluster. Contribute to setting budgets in line with the overall SA Taxi budget parameters and ensure attainment thereof. This includes:
o Review reports by subordinate managers to acquire understanding of the organization’s financial and non-financial position in order to direct activities of departments concerned with the operations.
o Reviews financial statements, sales, activity reports and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement.
Develop cohesive and motivated teams, implementing appropriate structures to ensure continuity and succession. Achieving this through:
o Ensuring functions consists of competent professionals.
o Ensure that all staff roles and responsibilities are clear and that the resources are aligned with business requirements.
o Ensuring the team deliver high calibre services to the company and enhance their individual careers within the group.
- Forge and maintain relations of trust with shareholders, suppliers and external parties key to the performance of the cluster.
Skills/Experience Required:
- Minimum of B.Com and post graduate degree in business, finance or a related field.
- 10 – 15 years’ experience at Senior Manager level.
- Proven experience in senior executive role within Asset Backed Lending environment.
- Proven track record running a profitable commercial entity.
- Prior experience at senior executive level with Stratco experience.
