The company wishes to appoint a Quality Inspector (contract position) within the Quality department.

The incumbent must have:

  • A minimum of a Grade 12
  • At least two years’ experience in a Machining Quality environment
  • Measurement equipment experience in the use of Micrometers, Bore Micrometers and Verniers
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills
  • Strong disciplined approach to completing tasks and target driven

The successful incumbent must have the ability to work accurately and independently and have a good attendance and timekeeping record. The position could involve shift work.

Duties of the position include, amongst others:

  • To ensure all quality activities comply with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHS act requirements.
  • To inspect and verify each component against the requirements of the process drawing/ control plan or relevant work instruction.
  • To provide the production line with accurate information on the quality status of the components.
  • To ensure that all measuring equipment and/or gauges are calibrated and verified and that only calibrated gauges are used to inspect components.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records of each component inspected.
  • Conduct line, process, and dock audits.
  • Process documentations correctly and on time.
  • Ensure zero PPM’s/ rejects at all customers.
  • Conduct audits as communicated.
  • Record and communicate accurate scrap and inspection data to the quality engineer daily.

Desired Skills:

  • Read and understand Measuring equipment
  • Read and interpret Drawings

Desired Work Experience:

  • 2 to 5 years Quality Control

Desired Qualification Level:

  • Grade 12 / Matric
