The company wishes to appoint a CNC Operator (Contract position) within the Machine Shop department.
The incumbent must have:
- A minimum of a Grade 12
- At least one years’ experience as a CNC Operator with Measurement equipment experience (Vernier, Micrometer, etc.)
- Must be able to read and interpret drawings
- Good numeracy and literacy skills
- Strong disciplined approach to completing tasks and target driven
The successful incumbent must have the ability to work accurately and independently and have a good attendance and timekeeping record. The position could involve shift work.
Duties of the position include, amongst others:
- Machine components according to drawing and control plan specifications.
- Ensure quality of products by ensuring components are gauged according to gauge frequency defined on process control plans.
- Operate equipment efficiently and effectively for the length of the shift.
- Complete all process paperwork as required.
- Change inserts as and when required adhering to defined tool life frequencies.
- Ensure effective control of non-conforming products.
- Ensure all activities are conducted safely and in line with QMS and EMS requirements.
- Wear the required PPE and follow safety instructions at all times.
