Reporting to – Digital Information Services Manager

Role Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and energetic Agile and Operations Manager to join a growing team. In this role, you will manage internal data and software development projects in a regulated environment. The Agile Project and Ops Manager will also work across the portfolio with Digital Transformation Managers, functional stakeholders and management to ensure standardised processes are established across the software development lifecycle, release management to drive the development of high quality, high value software products within an Agile framework.

Additional Key Criteria/Responsibilities relating to the position:
The Agile Ops Lead will be founded on the Microsoft Azure Cloud platform which will be responsible for extracting data from the various target system, perform data transformation and modelling into the Azure data structures, and then ultimately creating the Unified Person Record for re-representation back to any data consumer (whether it be systems or end-users).
However, the platform must be underpinned by a mature and reliable operational framework to ensure the continued performance and delivery of our services.
Therefore, this role of the Operations Lead will be extremely important. The role should ensure that the platform remains operational, which includes:

  • Define, implement and maintain the operational framework
  • Define, implement and maintain the monitoring and alerting tools and associated rules
  • Define, implement and maintain the workflows for IT service management functions i.e. incident and problem management
  • Define, implement and maintain communication to relevant stakeholders during changes, maintenance and/or incidents
  • Monitor report on the departmental services against agreed SLA’s.

The role would also assume a Scrum Master function where during our daily stand-ups, the Operations Lead will own the manage, track and present the enhancement requests and backlog to formulate the weeks development priorities on the platform.

  • This would also require the role to own the implementation and maintenance of our Team DevOps board and tasks.

KEY WORK OUTPUT AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Facilitate planning projects, confirming scope, uncovering of requirements and managing Monitor & track project progress against the budget, timelines and quality.
  • Participate in the tracking of testing & deployment activities, including Third party vendor
  • Provide detailed project plans, budget forecasts, and schedules, deployment approach, work activities, milestones, deliverables, resources, and dependencies for each assigned
  • Facilitate Agile
  • Manages cross-team and cross-functional dependencies for the Coaches and mentors team member adoption of agile methodology.
  • Works with Program Management in managing risks & raising of
  • Tracks progress & deliverables and ensures team remains focused on committed
  • Protect the team from interruptions & changes to the sprint
  • Coordination of Release management tasks in accordance to Netcare’s release standards and
  • Manage, own and monitor the operational processes that drive delivery within the team.
  • Ensure that project related initiatives have transitioned to operations and that the required operating procedures and processes are in place and
  • Drive initiatives to ensure proactive monitoring and alerting of the critical technology platforms that form part of the Digital Information Services

Skills Profile:

Education:

  • BSC Degree OR relevant technology advanced diploma at NQF level
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
  • Agile foundations and practitioner APMG

Work Experience:

  • 10 years project management experience in an ICT environment, managing data and software projects and working with software development
  • Demonstrable experience of Agile and Scrum Management methodologies across all IT related initiatives
  • Good leadership skills and team player.
  • Ability to work and liaise with stakeholders at all
  • Ability to coordinate and facilitate discussions to encourage execution

Able to identify, assesses and manages risks.

Knowledge:
