Job Purpose
To manage the manufacturing site with respect to
- Stakeholder management in particular organized labour
- Compliance to regulatory requirements (SAHPRA and SAPC)
- Quality management
- Meeting the production plan cost efficiently
- Continuous improvement
- Performance management
- Customer service
- Compliance to OHS Act
- Asset management
- Daily, weekly and monthly reporting on production, quality and management accounts
The position is both strategic and tactical in nature and will drive rapid, measurable, and sustained continuous improvement for the manufacturing site. Lead site management team to ensure the KPI’s are achieved in accordance with the sites annual targets based on the overall Operations KPI’s set by the Managing Director
Required Learning - Tertiary qualification in Pharmacy, Science and/or Engineering field
- GCC (Government Certificate of Competence) an advantage
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, including 10 years’ senior leadership experience in manufacturing operations, human capital and QA functions
Key Job Outputs - Drive accountability within site to ensure the highest level of productivity is achieved
- Lead and direct a management team to ensure Site KPI’s set by Executive and MD are achieved
- Overseeing all Plant operations performance objectives
- Effective and efficient use of available resources to manufacture products that meet customer requirements for cost, quality, delivery and service
- Develop short-, medium- and long-term objectives for the manufacturing site functions to support overall company goals and objectives
- Establish and develop relevant performance measurement metrics to continuously drive operations to a higher level of excellence
- Initiates and Executes Operational Excellence initiatives by creating a continuous improvement culture
- Empower team members and stakeholders through coaching, counselling, and inspiring them to perform to world-class standard
- To ensure that the requirements of the Site Quality Management Systems are met to meet cGMP requirements
- Create a performance climate where people at all levels are held accountable for delivery of their commitments
- Deliver budgets through the consistent use of process, systems and procedures to ensure manufacturing plans are optimized and non-value-added activities eliminated
- Ensure a strong Quality Culture is at the heart of all site activities
- Drive continuous improvement through Site Quality Review process
