PLANTATION MANAGER
The successful incumbent will reside on the Estate and will report directly to the Forest Manager, and must comply with the following criteria:
Position Specifications:
– Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
– Forestry qualification (saasfeld) or equivalent
– Must have at least 5 years’ experience as a senior forester / plantation manager
– Proven experience in sivicultural functions namely, establishment, protection, maintenance, environmental management and asset improvement.
– Proven experience in Sawlog, pole & pulp production from pine and eucalyptus.
– Must have a valid drivers license
– Knowledge of the forestry and sawmill industryPerson Requirements:
– Must be able to communicate effectively at all levels
– Must be prepared to reside at the estate
– Must have a strong ability to manage and supervise teams while improving productivity
– Must have the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
– Must have the ability to work independently
– Must have the ability to compile, present and execute work plans
– Must be prepared to do standby and fire fighting duties
– Must be safety and quality orientated.
