KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, schedule, monitor and expedite import and local steel manufacturing requirements, orders and operations through the manufacturing facility to achieve Master Production Schedule The duties of this position include:

Setup a management system to coordinate the steel requirements of the factories to plan/expedite these requirements with the approved steel suppliers.

Ensure that new and existing import/local orders of steel are rescheduled according to MRP recommendations based on Master Production Schedule due dates with approved steel supplier and reported to the Materials Managers.

Obtain and Monitor new orders on overseas suppliers in line with Steel requirement to meet Master Production Schedule dates. Outstanding Order report to be implemented.

Investigate shipment dates requested to nominate the vessel with the Clearing and Forwarding Agents to ensure that shipment is booked and sailed on the correct vessel to meet in stores and production dates.

In consultation with the approved supplier Expedite the orders with suppliers and forwarding/clearing agents to ensure zero late orders resulting in zero percent downtime in Factories.

Identify Critical Shortages and liaise with Approved suppliers and Factory Management. – Expediting the new steel introduction in the Factories to ensure projects are achieved timeously.

Ensuring accurate stock Management pertaining to stock holding Policies and Procedures at the approved suppliers.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
National Diploma
3-5 years’ experience within a manufacturing environment.
Steel knowledge and experience
SAP Import/local Purchasing Experience
Forecasting Knowledge
Computer literacy and excellent communication skills are essential
