JOB OVERVIEW/ROLE PURPOSE
- The Senior Application Engineer – CAD (Pre-Sales) is responsible for investigating and analysing customer business processes, matching their challenges and requirements with the ability to offer solutions and demonstrating the business value of offerings to potential customers.
- This individual will be required to interact extensively with prospects and customers, primarily supporting sales in a technical capacity and secondarily assisting with solution delivery and customer support.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering (Or related field)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
Experience & Skills
- 5+ years’ experience and demonstrated high level of competence in a product development environment using a CAD system
- Knowledge & experience using a PLM/PDM system such as Windchill/ Teamcenter/ Aras/ Enovia
- Experience in design best practices including the top-down design method.
- Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
- Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) Structural, Thermal and Fluid simulation
- Experience in electrical and piping design including diagrams.
- PTC Creo Parametric preferably
- Experience in a sales environment
- Access to reliable transport
Duties
- Working with sales in discovery of customer challenges and developing and proposing solutions based on product portfolio including but not limited to:
- Software demonstrations
- Proof of Concept exercises
- Recommending product design and business process improvements
- Support to the solution delivery and customer support teams with ensuring that customers achieve the benefits proposed by the solution
- Assist in implementing development plans for junior team members
