Introduction

A UAT Tester comes into play when the final software is to be released. This role serves essentially as the Tester that will try out all functions at least once and run through all possible eventualities.
The UAT Tester plans and conceptualises the necessary tests to be carried out. They organise test runs to ensure the testing can be approved to be deployed. They execute test plans, scenarios, scripts or procedures, and test system modifications to prepare for implementation supporting the User Acceptance Testing effort for the Trust. The incumbent will act as a liaison between the Trust and IT personnel during testing activities until the solution is deployed to production and post-implementation testing has been completed

Duties & Responsibilities

Performance Outputs

  • Identify, track, and help resolve defects. Record test results on time and at a high quality.
  • Attend UAT check-in sessions and provide feedback on testing progress.
  • Support and participate in quality assurance test scenario reviews to identify gaps.
  • Ensure sign off is received on UAT results from project and product owners.
  • Manage testing timelines and progress independently.
  • Communicate status, defects, and progress clearly and consistently. Create or update reports with status as needed.
  • Plan, Facilitate, or assist with meetings as needed to accomplish individual, team and/or project goals.
  • Ability to identify risks and issues, collaborate and partner with others and proactively plan to mitigate.

Technical Competencies:

  • Ability to write test documentation such as test plans, scripts + reports.
  • Strong technical skills and abilities including databases and SQL.
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), testing process and methodologies (E2E, Waterfall, Agile, Risk-based, Regression) and when to leverage each
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work tight deadlines to maximise results
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of staff, clients, and various individuals

Minimum Requirements

  • 3-year bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or IT or another relevant field degree
  • 2-3-years’ experience
