ENVIRONMENT:A cutting-edge Tech company in Joburg seeks the coding talents of a strong SQL Back-End Developer to join its team. Your role will entail delivering end-to-end BI solutions, de-normalising, consolidating & reconciling systems to a single version of the truth while developing and supporting SQL Server objects for a variety of technical requirements. You must have Matric/Grade 12, a relevant IT tertiary qualification, 5+ years SQL development & proficiency in SQL Server 2008/2012, SSRS, SSAS Tabular, SSRS, T-SQL, DAX, SSIS, Power BI, Excel with Power Pivot, experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning systems (ERP’s) (Sage, Syspro, SAP, Oracle, practical understanding of Kimball and data extraction from ERPs to [URL Removed] Project Management
- Deliver end-to-end BI solutions to customers (From proposal to implementation).
- Manage team towards delivery and ensuring client satisfaction.
Technical / Development –
- Analyse client systems and relate industry processes within the data structures and gain a better understanding of the clients’ specific business.
- Extract, transform and load (ETL) any form of a database. Pervasive SQL and Microsoft SQL systems in general.
- De-normalise, consolidate, and reconcile systems into a single version of the truth. Existing services developed with .Net and SSIS.
- Develop and support SQL Server objects for a variety of technical requirements depending on a per-client basis.
- Design new and support existing reports based mainly on SSRS and Excel/SharePoint platforms.
REQUIREMENTS:Qualifications
- Matric/Grade 12.
- Relevant IT qualification.
Experience/Skills
- 5+ Years experience SQL development.
- Business Analysis experience.
- Business Management experience.
- Business Intelligence (BI).
- SQL Server 2008/2012 experience.
- SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
- T-SQL expertise / Transact SQL.
- Microsoft Power BI.
- Data Analysis Expressions (DAX).
- SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) Tabular & SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) / Data Factory.
- SharePoint.
- Strong MS Excel skills and especially experience with Power Pivot.
- Experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning systems (ERP’s) (Sage, Syspro, SAP, Oracle and others).
- Knowledge of various ERP systems and where to find specific data.
- Data extraction from ERPs to SQL.
- Ability to develop an application to implement extraction.
- Practical understanding of KIMBALL and presenting various scenarios of implementation.
- Sound experience in analysing data.
- Projects on written Stored Procedures should be described and explained in detail (Data Warehousing, Data Mart, Data Lakes).
- A solid understanding of how applications and underlying databases work/integrate.
- Experience with Front-end work, Visualisation, Graphs and designing financial and operational dashboards.
Advantageous
- Relevant Microsoft Certifications in Business Intelligence & SQL development.
- Cube or dashboard development within BI.
