Data & Analytics Department is recruiting a Software Engineer
As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing in-house new applications as well as analysing and modifying existing in-house applications to meet internal customer’s needs. The Software engineer will support multiple stakeholders, including data engineers, data analysts, and data scientists to ensure an optimal synergy between application data creation and data exploitation. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical abilities to solve complex problems with technology.
The role holder will report to the Head of Analytics.
Key Responsibilities:
The Software Engineer primary responsibilities will be to continuously work towards developing new applications and maintaining existing applications both with an objective of increasing efficiency and pioneering better ways of doing things.
The below skillset is critical for success within the role:
- Design, implement, test, evaluate, and manage existing or new software applications
- Analyse change request for existing application and deploy the changes in a timely manner
- Enforce best practices during coding
- Providing support to end-users for existing applications
- Continuously staying aware of all new technologies and software to have a constant re-assessment of solutions
- Automation of existing manual processes and procedures
- Create and maintain technical specifications materials
- Develop decision model/design tools to be integrated with different API Calls
- Working closely with other developers, analysts, and other cross-functional teams
- Training users/trainers
Experience & Minimum Qualifications
- At least a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Statistical or Mathematical science or another related field
- Other Data science related qualifications will be plus.
- 2+ years of relevant working experience as a Software Engineer, Web Developer, Full Stack Engineer,
- Intermediate SQL skills and experience with relational databases and database design
- Demonstrated knowledge of web technologies, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP
- Experience in SQL Server, MySQL, Power BI and other languages like Python, R among others will be a definite advantage
- Ability to work independently and multi-task effectively
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (Ability to communicate findings to all levels within the bank)
Desired Skills:
- Intermediate SQL skills and experience with relational databases and database design
- Demonstrated knowledge of web technologies such as HTML CSS JavaScript and PHP
- Experience in SQL Server MySQL Power BI and other languages like Python R among others will be a definite advantage
