Main purpose of the job:

  • The overall objective of position of Junior Data Analyst is to provide administrative and technical support to the AUDA NEPAD AMRH programme in the implementation of the AMRH Research, Monitoring and Evaluation framework

Location:

  • AUDA NEPAD, 230 15th Road, Midrand, Johannesburg

Key performance areas:

  • Maintain a database of AMRH Research, Monitoring and Evaluation focal points and partners
  • Support consultations on the AMRH continental, regional and national key performance indicators (KPIs) with RECs, NRAs, and partners
  • Support the development of data collection tools and provide direct technical support to RECs and NRAs in data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • Support the roll-out of the RM&E module on the electronic Regulatory Information Sharing Portal (portal) including uploading of the agreed KPIs, data collection and analysis tools, reports, and dashboards
  • Support building of research monitoring and evaluation capacity for Regional Economics Communities (RECs) and Medicines National Regulatory Agencies (NRAs) to track regulatory systems strengthening and harmonisation
  • Support tracking of progress on regulatory capacity development interventions through the implementation the AMRH M&E plan
  • Support data analysis on various KPIs using relevant statistical packages
  • Support the convening of the AMRH Research, Monitoring and Evaluation Community of Practice, Organize webinars and thematic conferences, success stories and produce reports
  • Perform any other duties as assigned

Required minimum education and training:

  • Honours Degree in Statistics, Data Science, Econometrics, Economics, Demography, or related field

Required minimum work experience:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Data Management and/or Analysis

Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities:

  • Must have a strong interest in working in the African Union (AU) System
  • Demonstratable skills in statistical analysis, analytical thinking, communication, and research
  • Experienced in the use of MS excel, pivot tables, MS Access, SPSS, and other statistical packages
  • Good IT competence, command of main office software programmes, internet communication, social media and searching skills
  • Document and graphic design skills an asset
  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work under pressure within significant experience in Africa
  • Ability to perform a variety of technical and administrative tasks
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and a strong team working capacity
  • Must be proficient in English and proficiency in any or more of the African Union’s working languages (French, Portuguese, or Arabic) would be an added advantage
