Our client is looking for a software developer to develop and maintain in-house actuarial valuation software.
Key Requirements
- Ability to analyse complex actuarial processes and translate them into efficient software solutions.
- Skilled in troubleshooting issues within legacy systems like Delphi, particularly with flat file architectures, and determining optimal paths for modernisation.
- Solid understanding of Delphi’s development environment, object-oriented programming and Pascal.
- Capable of maintaining and enhancing legacy Delphi systems while planning long-term upgrades.
- Strong knowledge of database design and management, including experience with flat file systems and relational databases (e.g. MySQL, SQL Server or PostgreSQL).
- Experience migrating systems from flat file databases to relational databases, ensuring data integrity, normalisation and improved query performance.
- Familiarity with transitioning applications from standalone/flat file systems to a client-server architecture, understanding the advantages of scalability, security and performance.
- Experience with networking, server management and data handling across distributed systems.
- Strong actuarial technical skills
