My client based in Cape Town is currently looking for a Data Analyst to join them on a fixed term contract

Responsibilities

  • Perform manual data extracts from the data warehouse as required during the interim phase before the implementation of the Omni Channel tool next year
  • Provide manual data extracts for email, SMS, WhatsApp, and/or other channels, based on identified customer, product, and demographic attributes, to support CRM campaigns as required, ensuring data accuracy and relevance
  • Document the current data attributes in the warehouse to enable accurate data migration and identify any gaps
  • Actively participate in the data migration project, ensuring all required customer data is available and accessible for use in the new tool
  • Develop and implement customer data segmentation for two brands, using current attributes and incorporating new ones as they become available, ensuring customer-first targeting
  • Strong SQL understanding and experience to write SQL queries for accurate customer segmentation in the new Omni channel tool
  • Provide Marketing campaign insights, reports guiding future campaigns
  • Serve as a key liaison between the data migration team and Marketing / CRM, ensuring alignment on data objectives and priorities
  • Provide accurate data extracts and customer segmentation to support CRM campaigns
  • Actively contributes to the data migration project, ensuring data accuracy and availability in the new Omni Channel tool
  • Develop and implement data-driven segmentation, adapting to current and future data attributes
  • Write and optimise SQL queries for accurate targeting and segmentation
  • Deliver marketing insights and campaign performance reports, guiding future campaigns

Experience

  • Diploma/Degree in Data Science, Statistics, or Business Analytics
  • 4+ years in data analysis
  • Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and Power BI
  • Experience in telecommunications (a plus)

Skills

  • Advanced Excel skills for data manipulation and extraction from the data warehouse
  • Proficient in SQL, with experience in writing and debugging complex queries
  • Strong understanding of customer segmentation and data warehouse attributes
  • Analytical mindset with a proven track record in data segmentation and campaign support
  • Ability to adapt to new CRM or Omni Channel tools
  • Problem-solving and adaptable attitude
