Our client, a leading player in the Telecommunications and Energy industry, is seeking a talented and driven Project Manager – Solar to join their team in Sandton, Johannesburg. This is an exciting opportunity to manage cutting-edge solar PV projects and make a significant impact in the renewable energy space.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-End Project Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of solar PV projects planning and design through to commissioning and handover. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
- Technical Oversight: Provide expert guidance on electrical systems and solar PV designs and installations. Ensure all technical aspects meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate effectively with internal teams, clients, contractors, and suppliers to drive seamless project execution and delivery.
- Budget & Schedule Management: Take charge of project budgets and schedules, ensuring milestones are achieved, costs are controlled, and resources are optimized.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure projects comply with all local regulations, industry standards, and safety protocols throughout the lifecycle.
- Risk Management: Identify project risks early and implement mitigation strategies to ensure smooth delivery.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Professional Registration: Must be SACPCMP registered as a [URL Removed] (Professional Project Manager).
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or a related field).
- Experience: At least 3+ years of experience managing commercial, industrial, or utility-scale solar PV projects.
- Solar PV Knowledge: Strong understanding of solar PV systems and electrical engineering principles.
- Project Management Expertise: Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders, ensuring successful delivery within scope and deadlines.
- Strong Communication & Leadership Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with experience managing contractors and cross-functional teams.
- Problem Solving & Multi-Tasking: Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, manage competing priorities, and solve problems effectively.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements in South Africa.
