Qualifications and Experience:
- Tertiary IT Systems Diploma, or equivalent
- Network certification is mandatory.
- 5 – 10 years’ Network experience in a corporate / industrial environment
- VMware networking
- Windows Servers
- Foundational troubleshooting skills in Linux.
- Linux FTP server’s issues
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Troubleshooting VMware Networking issues as well.
- Effectively managing Windows servers.
- Effectively managing foundational issues in Linux.
- Address network issues escalated by various clients.
- Address Linux FTP server’s issues.
Crossed skilled / experienced / knowledge.
- Own transport.
- Ability to travel.
- Ability to assist after hours when needed.
- Server Operating system knowledge, experience, and certification .
- Unix. (would be a nice to have)
- Windows.
- Virtualisation.
- General knowledge VMware with experience and certification
- Networking knowledge.
- Cisco.
- Juniper.
- General server hardware understanding, knowledge, and experience.
- General Storage hardware understanding, knowledge, and experience.
The ideal candidate should have 5 – 10 years’ experience.
- The person will be based in Midrand offices but may be required to travel to customer sites
- Possibility of an extension
- Limited shift work / afterhours standby
- 08h00 – 16h30, with a 30-minute lunch break.
