Our client is a leading software services and consulting company focusing on delivering innovative solutions with a strategic emphasis on generative AI.
They have an opportunity for an experienced problem-solver with in-depth knowledge of Business Analysis to join our Consulting team. A track record of problem-solving in a technical context is an important part of this role. A hands-on, delivery orientated professional will need to apply their knowledge and experience in medium to complex project environments (SME / Technical Expertise) to deliver the required organisational change.
The Senior Business Consultant will be expected to plan and manage their own work and may be required to lead a cross functional team of between 1 and 6 individuals to deliver projects successfully. This position also entails being involved with internal activities in addition to working with our clients.
What You’ll Do
Your responsibilities will include:
- Quickly grasp the key drivers within a client’s context to define, plan, communicate, and execute a tailored approach to solve complex problems.
- Apply your expertise in Business Analysis techniques and tools to manage complexity and foster clear, effective communication with stakeholders.
- Elicit, record, analyse and trace business and systems requirements from concept to implementation.
- Use your technical skills to model requirements formally, analyse data, and create prototypes or mock-ups that support requirement elicitation, analysis, and validation.
- Present well-packaged business requirements—both functional and non-functional—to solution designers, systems analysts, vendors, and technology specialists to co-develop solution options.
- Consistently deliver outstanding customer service through your interactions and your ability to influence to improve efficiencies.
What You Bring
Qualifications & Experience required
- A Commerce or IT-related undergraduate degree (e.g., B.Com Information Systems, BBusSc Information Systems) or an equivalent IT diploma.
- Business and Agile certifications (e.g., Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), a Diploma in Business Analysis (FTI), SAFe, Scrum, or equivalent) will be a significant asset.
- 5 to 8 years of experience in medium to complex system development projects, ideally in financial services or insurance.
- Able to conceptualise the bigger picture and translate complex ideas into simple, actionable business language.
- A critical thinker with proven problem-solving skills.
- Skilled at designing and executing solution approaches to solve business problems and tracking progress against a plan.
- Has a solid understanding of technology and delivery methodologies.
- Demonstrated depth in Business Analysis, including:
- Scoping, planning and estimating delivery strategies for own or team deliverables across the SDLC.
- Exceptional skills in requirements elicitation, analysis, and management.
- Attention to detail with a strong focus on quality assurance.
- Effective risk and issue management for individual or team deliverables.
- Proven leadership experience, with accountability for project outcomes.
- A thorough understanding of the software / system development process.
- Hands-on experience with technical scripting or configuration, such as SQL or low-code programming tools.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including identifying, analysing, and addressing their roles, influence, and impact on delivery.
- Experience in project management or leading agile teams is a plus.
