Our client is looking for a Solutions Architect to join their team in Johannesburg, GP The successful candidate will be instrumental in designing and delivering cutting-edge IT solutions that drive business transformation. Collaborating with senior executives, technical teams, and external partners, he will develop robust, scalable, and efficient architectures. This role focuses on aligning technology initiatives with organizational objectives, modernizing systems, and fostering technical excellence. Given the diverse technology landscape, which includes on-premises deployments, cloud-based solutions, and hybrid environments, the Solutions Architect must have deep expertise across all three to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop scalable, resilient, and secure architectures for large-scale, enterprise-level solutions that align with business goals and technical requirements.
- Create architectural frameworks that address the demands of both cloud and on-premises deployments, enabling system modernization and platform transformation.
- Collaborate with senior executives and technical teams to translate business challenges into effective technical strategies.
- Make informed technical decisions, balancing innovation, cost-efficiency, and risk management.
- Advocate for and implement modern architectural practices, including microservices, cloud-native, on-premises, and hybrid solutions.
- Stay current with emerging technology trends, identifying opportunities to enhance existing systems and resolve complex challenges.
- Produce detailed architectural diagrams, documentation, and guidelines, ensuring adherence to regulatory and security standards.
- Optimize system performance through advanced monitoring, performance tuning, and data-driven analytics.
- Lead the seamless integration of multiple platforms and applications to deliver high-performing, cohesive systems.
- Define and enforce architecture standards and governance frameworks to maintain compliance and security.
- Develop and oversee disaster recovery, business continuity, and security protocols.
- Drive the adoption of Agile, DevOps, and automation practices to accelerate project delivery and improve solution quality.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- Conduct post-implementation evaluations to identify opportunities for optimization and enhancement.
- Establish and refine KPIs to monitor and enhance architectural efficiency.
- Contribute to other relevant duties as required to support organizational goals and initiatives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in solution architecture, delivering large-scale enterprise solutions across cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), on-premises deployments, and hybrid architectures.
- Expertise in modern architectures, including microservices, APIs, containers, serverless computing, and event-driven systems.
- Proficiency in leveraging emerging technologies such as AI/ML, blockchain, and IoT.
- Extensive hands-on experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and automation tools.
- Expertise in edge computing and real-time processing for low-latency and distributed processing requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to design proactive technical solutions.
- Excellent decision-making and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business and technical needs.
- Advanced certifications such as TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Professional Cloud Architect are highly desirable.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is an advantage.
