Hire Resolve’s client is seeking a skilled and proactive IT Support Technician to join their team in Pretoria, Gauteng. This role involves maintaining and supporting internal IT infrastructure, ensuring the smooth operation of networks, systems, and hardware. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and a problem-solving mindset to provide efficient and effective IT support to internal staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Maintain and manage internal IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and security systems.
  • Install, configure, and update workstations, laptops, and other IT equipment.
  • Assist in the deployment and management of IT policies and procedures.
  • Support internal teams with software applications and technical queries.
  • Collaborate with vendors and service providers for hardware/software procurement and maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of IT assets, configurations, and support logs.
  • Implement and support Microsoft Office products and Microsoft 365, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Provide support for videoconferencing facilities and projectors.
  • Install and support network and local printers.
  • Design and install well-functioning computer networks, connections, and cabling.
  • Inspect LAN infrastructure and troubleshoot network issues.
  • Install and maintain VoIP software.
  • Test and configure software while maintaining and repairing hardware and peripheral devices.
  • Organize and schedule installations and maintenance without disrupting workflows.

Requirements:

  • Education:
    • National Senior Certificate.
    • Relevant tertiary IT qualification (beneficial).
    • A+ / N+ Certification (completed).
  • Experience:
    • 2-4 years of experience in IT support, network administration, or system maintenance.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in Windows-related packages and programs.
    • Understanding of network cabling, switches, patching, and Wi-Fi.
    • Knowledge of network printing and ADSL lines, routers, and modems.
