We are seeking a skilled IBM WebSphere Application Server Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, administration, and performance optimization of IBM WebSphere environments. You will collaborate with development, infrastructure, and operations teams to ensure the seamless deployment and maintenance of WebSphere-based applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation & Configuration

Install, configure, and maintain IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) on Linux, AIX, and Windows environments.

Set up security, clusters, and high-availability configurations.

Configure WebSphere ports, security settings, and SSL certificates.
Application Deployment & Administration

Deploy and manage WebSphere applications.

Configure and optimize JDBC providers, data sources, and MQ queues.

Troubleshoot WebSphere-related issues and perform root cause analysis.
Performance Optimization & Monitoring

Conduct health checks and performance tuning for WebSphere environments.

Optimize application servers for scalability, reliability, and high availability.

Implement monitoring tools to track application performance and system health.
Migration & Upgrades

Perform software upgrade assessments and migrate older WebSphere versions.

Assist with data, metadata, technology, and workload migration.

Ensure a seamless transition during WebSphere version upgrades.
Consultation & Best Practices

Deliver business and architectural workshops on WebSphere best practices.

Conduct operations assessments and recommend improvements.

Assist in roadmap discussions for product and infrastructure planning.
Requirements

IBM Certified System Administrator – WebSphere Application Server or ITIL Foundation Certification or Cloud certifications (Azure, AWS).

Strong experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) 8.5+ and 9.

Familiarity with IBM HTTP Server, IBM BPM, and WebSphere Process Server.

Hands-on experience with Linux, AIX, and Windows environments.

Knowledge of JVM tuning, security hardening, and clustering strategies.

Understanding of SSL/TLS, authentication mechanisms, and certificate management.

Experience in installing and configuring WebSphere ND, standalone, and clustered environments.

Ability to troubleshoot application performance issues and resolve system errors.

Experience with scripting and automation (Shell, Python, Ansible) is a plus.
