Our client is seeking an Application Support Analyst to join their dynamic team. You will play a pivotal role in resolving customer queries and technical issues related to core business applications, database integrations, and reporting systems. What you’ll do:
- Log incidents, problems, and changes via the Service Management System.
- Provide support for applications, systems, and databases.
- Address SQL and front-end application issues, ensuring solutions are implemented.
- Regularly review application, database, and system performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and improve system efficiency.
- Share after-hours support duties with the team.
- Keep stakeholders informed about problems, changes, and incidents.
- Configure systems, applications, and databases.
- Create new and modify existing SQL/SSRS reports.
- Support and maintain integrations between core applications, APIs, and third-party systems.
- Maintain Power BI workspaces, manage access control, and optimize data models for performance.
- Collaborate with DBAs and application vendors to resolve issues and implement changes.
- Analyse requirements and deliver solutions to meet business goals.
- Maintain databases and applications, including upgrades and patches.
- Manage application and database security permissions.
- Backup and restore databases.
- Create database schemas, tables, procedures, and permissions.
- Implement system changes following change procedures.
- Participate in application testing, including UAT, regression testing, and deployment validation.
- Develop and update technical documentation.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
- Contribute to disaster recovery and business continuity planning for core applications and databases.
Your expertise:
- 5 years’ experience in application support and/or database administration
- Experience with MS SQL Server in a working environment, including sound knowledge of constructing SQL queries
- Good knowledge of Information system terminologies, concepts, functions, policies, and procedures
- Experience with SQL Reporting Services, VB.Net, API’s, Web Services and XML
