An exciting opportunity is available for a COBOL to Java Conversion Developer with deep experience in Oracle Customer Care and Billing (CC&B). The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing legacy COBOL code and transforming its business logic into modern Java applications, ensuring seamless integration within a CC&B environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse and interpret COBOL programs to extract and understand business logic.
- Re-engineer COBOL logic into scalable Java solutions using modern frameworks.
- Collaborate with architects and business analysts to validate functional accuracy.
- Integrate Java components with Oracle CC&B modules and systems.
- Optimize data structures and database performance during migration.
- Document conversion methodologies and support end-to-end testing processes.
- Ensure compliance with organizational development standards.
Minimum Requirements
COBOL Expertise
- Strong command of COBOL syntax, data types, and control structures.
- Hands-on experience converting COBOL to other modern technologies.
- Must provide project-based evidence of COBOL migration experience.
Oracle CC&B Knowledge
- In-depth exposure to Oracle CC&B (preferably v2.6+).
- Strong understanding of CC&B architecture, configuration, and modules.
- Certification in Oracle CC&B is an advantage.
Java Development
- Solid experience with Java EE, Spring, Hibernate, and related tools.
- Proven success in translating COBOL logic into Java applications.
- Familiarity with performance tuning and systems integration best practices.
Database Skills
- Proficient with Oracle databases and PL/SQL.
- Strong knowledge of schema mapping and data migration strategies.
