At CES Las Vegas in January, Intel launched Intel AI Assistant Builder (formerly SuperBuilder) – a free software stack available to anyone with an Intel-based AI PC.
Once downloaded and installed, Intel AI Assistant Builder doesn’t require an Internet connection to run – it runs 100% on your PC – offering users heightened control over data security and ultimate control over their data.
Nine months later, Intel offered PC users an exciting update: A new wave of faster, smarter AI models is on the way.
At last week’s Intel Technology Tour in Arizona, Intel demonstrated the next evolution of its AI Assistant Builder software – a newer, hybrid solution that now taps on the best of both local and cloud computing architecture, while ensuring user privacy is secured at all times.
More than 200 global media were shown two demos, including a hybrid agentic AI browser and a hybrid AI PowerPoint generation.
“With a newer hybrid solution, AI Assistant Builder is now able to take advantage of both local computer resources, local AI models as well as large language models available in the cloud,” explains Olena Zhu, head of AI solutions in Intel’s Client Computing Group.
This hybrid solution offers the best of both worlds – local processing as well as cloud-based computing resources– while ensuring data privacy, Olena says.
The new solution will enhance the performance of AI agents with improved latency and speed while protecting data privacy and reducing overall costs. It will be fully released when Panther Lake launches in 2026.
AI Assistant Builder is set to receive a major performance boost when Panther Lake AI PCs arrive in 2026.
“With Panther Lake, PC platforms will have much more computing power in terms of TOPs and memory bandwidth,” Olena explains. “The power of Panther Lake platforms combined with the hybrid AI framework of AI Assistant Builder will usher in more exciting AI use cases that will improve the overall AI experience for PC users.”
