Microsoft spent more than expected on AI in the quarter ended 30 September, shelling our $34,9-billion on new projects associated with building AI-powered data centres.
The company’s revenue was $77,7-billion, an increase of 18%.
Operating income was up 24% to $38-billionm with net income up 125 at $27,7-billion and increased 12%.
“Our planet-scale cloud and AI factory, together with Copilots across high value domains, is driving broad diffusion and real-world impact,” says Satya Nadella, chairman and CEO of Microsoft. “It’s why we continue to increase our investments in AI across both capital and talent to meet the massive opportunity ahead.”
