The Business Process and Test Analyst play a pivotal role in translating complex business processes into tested, reliable systems that drive operational excellence. Acting as the key link between IT and business units, this role evaluates, documents, and improves processes while designing and executing comprehensive test strategies to ensure software solutions meet real-world requirements. With a focus on continuous improvement, stakeholder collaboration, and delivering solutions that make a tangible impact, this position is central to maintaining efficiency, quality, and reliability across all operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Perform Business Analysis (45%):

o Evaluate and analyse information.

o Evaluate, analyse and document current and future business processes to determine their viability, identify strengths and weaknesses in operations and explore ways IT can improve, enhance and reduce costs and optimize benefits.

o Ascertain and negotiate needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders.

o Manage and facilitate workshops and requirements gathering sessions.

o Elicit, understand and clearly document business/user problems and requirements, and translate into viable IT solutions.

o Produce functional specification documentation with sufficient information, including flowcharts, use cases, wireframes and any other diagrams to clarify and confirm business understanding.

o Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the various systems supported by the team.

o Consult with business units, team members and project teams, to attain optimal solutions and benefits, that comply with WCBS principles and standards.

o Contribute to the formulation of short to medium term plans to facilitate continuous business improvement.

o Provide guidance and support to business units with the development of Business Cases.

o Compile, maintain and update system manuals, user guides and FAQs.

o Provide system usage and functionality hand-over to the relevant system / process owners.

· Perform Solution Testing (45%):

o Participate in sprint planning and backlog refinement.

o Review and understand solution requirements, specifications and project/change success criteria.

o Collaborate with team members to define testing strategy, scope and approach.

o Create test strategies for development projects and individual changes.

o Develop and document effective test plans, scripts and test cases.

o Execute all aspects of testing of software products for Unit, Integration, Regression, Negative, Functional and load/performance testing.

o Identify and document defects and deficiencies and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.

o Re-test and verify resolution of identified defects after remediation.

o Manage and facilitate User Acceptance Testing sessions.

· Provide Support for IT Solutions (10%):

o Deliver a service that meets the needs of the business within the defined Service Level and Service Availability Agreements.

o Maintain a high level of customer service by analysing customer feedback and proactively adapting the ICT service to meet customer needs.

· Quality:

o Reads and complies with all relevant Policies and Work Instructions and signs related Compliance Records.

o Complies with all relevant aspects of the Quality Management system.

· Safety, Health and Hygiene:

o Complies with Occupational Health and Safety Act and Safety Work Instructions with regard to proper use of personal protective equipment and prevention of accidents and incidents etc.

Most Important Contacts:

· Within the organisation: All computer users, including Heads, Managers and Supervisors who rely on ICT for their operations. These include the Head Office, Regional Branches, Blood Banks, Blood Donation Centres and all remote sites.

· Outside the Organisation: Suppliers, IT specialists, and ICT service providers.

RequirementsMinimum Requirements:

· Matric / Grade 12.

· National Diploma or Degree, majoring in Information Systems.

· Diploma in Business Analysis.

· ISTQB Certification (Tester Foundation Level).

· Code B Drivers’ License.

· 5 years proven Business Analysis and testing experience.

· Knowledge of Agile development methodology.
