PERFORMANCE STATEMENT:

Deal Analyst will be required to assist deal captains with credit pack consolidation, deal assessment and deal proposals. Deal Analyst acts as a junior Deal Captain with promotion to Deal Captain as a result of experience and high performance

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

  • Screening of new potential deals
  • Analyse and interpret financial statements and reports to identify potential risks and strengths.
  • Building a referral network for deals
  • Participate in due diligence activities for potential new loan deals.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (such as credit, underwriting, and loan closing) to ensure timely and accurate loan processing.
  • Following up on due diligence documents and consolidating information
  • Compiling credit committee summary and proposal
  • Onsite client visits to assess viability of potential deals nationally.
  • Building a relationship with current customers and taking over some of those relationships for re-structures, increase in facilities, renewals etc.
  • Post term sheet deal management
  • Insurance cessions
  • Bank verifications
  • Legals review
  • CP’s fulfilment
  • Liaising regarding bond registrations

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assisting with building of operational structure, compliance across the group
  • Responsibility for all CIPC and regulatory filings across the group
  • Assisting legal with regulatory compliance
  • Assisting finance with tax and audit
  • Assisting with all FSP license compliance
  • Continuously improve processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Stay up to date with changes in regulations and industry standards
  • Attend and participate in internal meetings and trainings to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Maintain and update loan portfolio reports, analytics, and loan information databases.
  • Drive project-based work from time to
  • Support ad-hoc projects and analysis as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Willingness to travel for onsite client visits
