We’re hiring a Data Scientist with expert-level PowerBI experience. This role is within the financial services industry and our client seeks to employ a Data Science professional on a contract basis.
Initial contract duration: 6-months.
Location: Johannesburg.
Environment: Hybrid working environment.
This role is ideally for a senior practitioner who can hit the ground running. The successful contractor will be required to deliver high-quality analytics and reporting at speed, and build advanced visualisation tools for Key stakeholders (executive and higher level) of our Client.
As a senior resource, the contractor will report to the divisional head and will have a pivotal role in elevating reporting, analytics, and visualisation capability. In addition to advanced PowerBI specialist, requirements include: Strong technical depth, creative design ability, and the maturity to work independently while collaborating across business units. This role requires speed, accuracy, strong problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of modern data flows, particularly within financial services.
Qualification requirements
- A Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Business Intelligence, etc.
Experience required
- Advanced PowerBI development experience is required (5-10+ years)
- Experience delivering high-quality dashboard design, reporting systems, and data modelling
- PowerBI expert-level proficiency
- Strong understanding of ETL/data flows and automation tools
- Ability to translate complex data into visually compelling outputs
- Strong project management and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement
- High attention to detail with strong analytical problem-solving
- A strong portfolio demonstrating past work
