Plan and set up systems’ infrastructure

Implement validated patches and updates

Configure web service platforms

Implement VM as per requirements of the business / product

Define and allocate IP addresses

Plan and report on VM host capacity within the company

Diagnose system faults
Maintain high availability of systems’ infrastructure

Identify system evolution improvement requirements

Identify, test and recommend new and/or improved systems and usage

Identify, test and confirm hardware and software compatibilities

Collaborate with Network Administrators on corporate network design

Test and validate software patches and updates

Troubleshoot and resolve systems’ performance and access issues

Maintain robust security compliance (i.e. OS Updates, Anti-Virus updates/warnings)

Create, configure and maintain isolated (ring-fenced) virtual environments

Respond to and rectify system generated warnings, errors and failures

Recover server data from hardware failures

Recover end user data from hardware failures

Maintain physical (hardware) backup servers

Rebuild RAID on replacement storage hardware

Maintain web service platforms

Provide remote support to the IT support team/function

Undertake ongoing research on prevailing and emerging systems’ technologies

Identify, test and recommend potential new/improved systems and technologies

Check health status of daily server backups and replications

Conduct periodic, scheduled systems checks
