African indie game studio Nyamakop has launched Relooted, a culturally resonant Africanfuturist action-adventure game.

Relooted blends high-end technical gameplay with African-inspired worlds, characters and narratives, proving that stories rooted in African heritage.

Ben Myres, CEO and creative director at Nyamakop, says: “Relooted isn’t just a game, it’s a celebration of African creativity, history and imagination. We wanted to build something that feels unmistakably African, while meeting the technical and narrative standards of the world’s best games. This is about showing what’s possible when African stories are given world-class platforms.”

Set in a world inspired by African history, art and futurism, Relooted follows a group of modern-day heroes reclaiming priceless African artifacts stolen and displayed in museums around the world, flipping traditional treasure hunting tropes into a powerful cultural reclamation narrative.

“We built Relooted with the same production mindset as top-tier international studios, from gameplay mechanics to visual polish, while grounding everything in African cultural DNA. This is proof that African-made games can lead on both creativity and technical excellence,” continues Myres.
