Job Purpose
To scope, source, integrate and analyse complex financial, statistical and visual/spatial data to deliver high-quality forensic evidence in support of organisational and law enforcement objectives. The role includes technical leadership, oversight of analytical work, and team coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engagement with business units to define data and investigative requirements.
- Guide the development of new data sources and oversee information gathering tools.
- Lead database programming activities (scripts, stored procedures, functions) and contribute to data architecture design.
- Oversee data integration, migration, quality assurance, and performance optimisation.
- Supervise the design of analytical models to detect anomalies and suspicious financial activity.
- Analyse large and complex datasets and produce high-level reports with actionable insights.
- Conduct stakeholder briefings and presentations.
- Manage team deliverables, allocate work, and review outputs.
- Ensure proper documentation, data audits, and governance compliance.
Minimum Requirements
- University degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Business Information Systems.
- SAS or SQL Server certification (compulsory).
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in scoping, sourcing, integrating, and analysing complex financial and statistical data, including data mining, modelling, and coding.
- Strong quantitative, programming, and analytical skills.
- Expertise in economic/transactional analysis and statistical model development.
- Proficiency in Power BI and other business intelligence tools.
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Knowledge of financial and illicit financial flows (advantageous)
