Job Title: Network Engineer (Wireless & SD-WAN)
Location: Cape Town (on site)
Overview
A leading organisation within the financial services sector is looking for a Network Engineer with solid experience in wireless networking and SD-WAN to join their growing infrastructure team.
This role is suited to a hands-on engineer who enjoys working in a multi-site enterprise environment, supporting and optimising network performance across business-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Support, implement, and maintain enterprise wireless networks (Wi-Fi 5/6/6E)
- Assist with SD-WAN deployments and ongoing optimisation
- Monitor network performance and proactively resolve issues
- Troubleshoot connectivity, latency, and coverage problems
- Work with senior engineers on network design and upgrades
- Ensure network security and compliance with internal standards
- Collaborate with vendors and third-party providers
- Provide support for incidents, escalations, and maintenance activities
Required Experience & Skills
- 3-6 years’ experience in network engineering
- Strong exposure to wireless networking (enterprise Wi-Fi)
- Hands-on experience with SD-WAN solutions
- Solid understanding of:
- Routing & switching (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP basics)
- Network troubleshooting and performance tuning
- Experience with vendors such as:
- Cisco (Meraki / Viptela)
- Experience supporting multi-site or branch network environments
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to financial services, banking, or insurance environments
- Relevant certifications (e.g. CCNA, CCNP, Aruba certifications)
