Job Title: Senior Network Engineer (Wireless & SD-WAN)
Location: Cape Town (On Site)
Overview
A leading enterprise organisation within the financial services sector is seeking a Senior Network Engineer with strong expertise in wireless networking and SD-WAN technologies.
This role is ideal for a seasoned engineer who can take ownership of network design, optimisation, and performance across a large, multi-site environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimise enterprise wireless networks (Wi-Fi 5/6/6E)
- Lead SD-WAN deployment and management across multiple branch locations
- Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of network infrastructure
- Troubleshoot complex network and connectivity issues
- Work closely with security teams to ensure compliance with industry standards
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers
- Engage with internal stakeholders to align network solutions with business needs
Required Experience & Skills
- 5+ years’ experience in wireless networking (enterprise Wi-Fi environments)
- 3+ years’ hands-on experience with SD-WAN technologies
- Strong knowledge of:
- Routing & switching (BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP)
- Network security principles (VPNs, segmentation, firewalls)
- Experience with leading vendors such as:
- Cisco (Meraki / Viptela)
- Proven experience in designing and supporting multi-site enterprise networks
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex performance issues
Preferred Experience
- Background in financial services, banking, or insurance environments
- Experience in highly regulated environments
- Relevant certifications (e.g. CCNP, CCIE, Aruba certifications)
