The Business Enablement Consultant is an embedded, hands-on advisor responsible for enabling frontline business users to adopt and effectively use approved Generative AI tools and low-code/no-code platforms. The role focuses on practical, in-the-flow-of-work enablement rather than theoretical training or documentation, helping business users build real outputs using tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude (where approved), and the Microsoft Power Platform.

The consultant acts as a translation layer between business needs and technology capabilities, rapidly delivering tactical solutions while shaping and escalating more complex requirements to core platform and engineering teams through defined governance processes.

Key responsibilities

Embedded enablement and advisory

? Work side-by-side with business users across varying seniority levels to identify workflow pain points and opportunities for Generative AI (Co-pilot/Claude and other) enablement.

? Provide desk-side guidance on live deliverables, enabling users to apply Generative AI directly to their day-to-day work.

? Serve as a trusted advisor on how and where Generative AI can be safely and effectively applied within approved tooling and controls.

Generative AI enablement and prompt engineering

? Design, test, and refine high-quality, workflow-specific prompts aligned to business use cases.

? Build and maintain reusable prompt libraries and solution patterns suitable for replication across teams.

? Guide business users in the responsible and governed use of tools such as Copilot and Claude, in line with enterprise policies.

Low-code / no-code solutioning

? Design and prototype low-code and no-code automations using approved platforms, including Power Automate, SharePoint-based workflows, and related Microsoft Power Platform services.

? Support business users in understanding how to extend Generative AI solutions using low-code components rather than traditional development.

? Standardise and document successful solutions so they can be reused and rapidly deployed across similar workflows.

Lightweight agents and tooling

? Build and configure lightweight AI agents using approved tooling such as Copilot Studio, where permitted.

? Ensure all agents and automations comply with governance, security, and data-handling requirements.

? Collaborate with platform teams when solutions exceed enablement-level complexity.

Demand shaping and triage support

? Capture, clarify, and shape incoming business requests into clear problem statements and acceptance criteria.

? Support triage decisions by distinguishing between tactical enablement solutions and strategic platform needs.

? Prepare structured escalation inputs (problem context, value, risks, constraints) for handover to engineering or platform teams.

Training and adoption support

? Deliver targeted, workflow-based training sessions for business users and AI champions.

? Contribute to the development of training assets, prompt packs, and enablement playbooks.

? Support “office hours” and small-group sessions to drive confidence, adoption, and sustained usage.

? Drive change management with the various business units/teams.

Governance, reporting, and artefact management

? Ensure all artefacts (prompts, agents, automations, documentation) are stored in approved repositories and are auditable.

? Contribute to weekly operational updates and monthly insights reporting, including adoption trends and value indicators.

? Maintain awareness of risks, issues, and dependencies and flag them through established governance forums.

RequirementsCore technical and functional skills

? Hands-on experience with Generative AI tools, particularly Microsoft Copilot and similar LLM-based assistants (e.g., Claude where approved).

? Strong prompt engineering capability with the ability to tailor prompts to specific business workflows.

? Practical experience building low-code/no-code solutions, preferably using Microsoft Power Automate, SharePoint, and related Power Platform tools.

? Experience creating or configuring lightweight AI agents using approved enterprise tooling.

Business and consulting skills

? Strong ability to work directly with business stakeholders in the flow of work, translating needs into practical solutions.

? Comfort operating in unstructured environments with evolving requirements and fast turnaround expectations.

? Ability to clearly explain AI concepts and tooling to non-technical users without oversimplification.

? Experience operating within governed, regulated environments is strongly preferred.

Ways of working

? Proactive, high-ownership mindset with a focus toward action and delivery.

? Comfortable working onsite with business teams while collaborating with offsite specialists as required.

? Strong documentation discipline, ensuring solutions are reusable, auditable, and transferable.

? Ability to operate within defined operating models, intake processes, and service-level expectations.

Preferred experience

? Experience enabling Generative AI or automation Within Financial Services, Investment Banking, or Similarly Regulated Industries.

? Prior exposure to Managed Service Delivery Models with clear SLAs, KPIs, and reporting requirements.

? Experience working with Centre-Of-Excellence-Style Enablement Teams.

? Number of years’ experience: 2-3 years

Outcomes expected from the role

? Increased adoption of approved Generative AI tools across priority business workflows.

? Rapid delivery of tactical, low/no-code solutions that demonstrate clear business value.

? Reduced dependency on engineering teams for low complexity use cases.

? A growing, reusable library of prompts, agents, and enablement assets that accelerate future adoption.
